Sometimes you come across a place on the island that is just wonderful, and 1-Million-Somtams is one of them. Situated just about 100m before the Klong Plu waterfall it a perfect location for a bit of shade and relaxation right on the water. Owned by local man who was born on the island he can tell you a lot of stories of what Koh Chang was like when he was younger and the huge snake skin across a rafter gives credence to his stories.
They do a great BBQ chicken and of course a wonderful Som Tam. Definitely not high dining with crystal, but instead a very relaxed and laid back Thai restaurant. As it’s on the river it is a very cool and shady area that is great on a hot day. Just outside is a spring that supplies fresh water to the river so it is always high there and if you bring some shorts the owners don’t mind if you take a dip!
