The Koh Chang Sun was established in 2009 to help and promote Koh Chang Thailand.  I came here from Canada and simply fell in love with the island, the people and the place. It has been quite the journey from arriving here sick as a dog from Nepal, getting better at one of the resorts for quite a while and then opening up the online guide and online magazine for the island. We think we have found a home here in Koh Chang and are here for the long term… we feel that the island is one of the best in Thailand and we are proud to live here…

The “we’ is my wife Kaen Chutum, without whom none of this would be possible. Her insights into Thai culture and her Thai perspective have always been valuable beyond belief. Without her this site would not be happening. We always head out together and so that’s why its always “we”

We have always found that the view on Koh Chang is a bit skewered depending on what you read. There are the companies trying to funnel you into staying at their buddies place or their place, recommending friends restaurants etc… or the “shiny brochure” problem where the five-star places get all the press… We take no money for our reviews, no kickbacks or commission. We actually drive around the island, find the best places and write about them… If you book a hotel through us we get a bit, and the advertisements are clearly marked on the sidebar as that- advertisements. We feel that Koh Chang is more than just a bunch of photos and so we are continuing to write profiles on the people and editorials that may or may not interest you. To us a place is the people really, at the end of the day.
