Koh Chang News: The Charity Run in White Sands went over quite well, albeit with a couple of minor snags… but it was fun.
The event kicked off at Koh Bar, and we have to say they really went out of their way to put on a good show including some great live music, coyote dancers (yes, they’re in the video) and some great food. The party went over to Zap Bar, where they had some karaoke and then wound down at the Rock Bar on Walking Street, a nice little venue worth dropping into…
Along the way there were a lot of donations, tons of good music, a lot of laughs and of course it was all to help out the local school for supplies and sundries – so everyone pitched in and had a good time. For a change the heavy drinkers were appreciated!
The glitches that happened were although One Club was supposed to have a soft-opening their main amplifier blew and could not be replaced, not sure what happened to Paddy’s Palms and with the re-scheduling Dave Dobson, decided to skip Jungle Queen. We have to say he handled the changes in stride and did not have to interrupt the fun at all (grace under pressure and all).
Like anything, the first time can always be problematic but Dave is already planning the next event, and again it is to help the kids… contact us if you would like to be involved, maybe you can pitch in and look good all at the same time!
Of course you are asking about the money raised, what goes where and we will have that update for you in a few days. Dave went out his way along with the bars involved and I think a quick thank-you is in order as they are all trying to make the island a better community…
We have to say from our viewpoint here at the Koh Chang Sun we are grateful that such good people live on the island.
