Sometimes it can be a bit of a chore to find a nice relaxing lounge, something not too high end, but something not too filled with old chairs, a broken Coke fridge and dust… no some nights you want some thing… something modern, different, right angles, bold – fresh. Cocktail Queen fits the bill if you are looking for that something clean, modern, laid back, no “hostesses” kind of lounge – just an all round good place to have a couple of drinks.
Located right across from Chang Park Resort in Kai Bae it is a very modern interior with some nice features we really enjoyed, namely a great Euro made smooth concrete bar, comfortable chairs, a really cool waterfall window and of course ultra-clean. But don’t worry, there is a touch of bamboo and rattan so the Cocktail Queen is not cold and lonely feeling, just the right mix of Thai meets High Tech Italian kind of feel. The outdoor tables are a nice and the interior bar is even better.
A great place to take a date and do some talking without too many distractions, interruptions and noise, a nice change from most places… The service we got was extremely fast and have to say the owners a Western and Thai couple are extremely welcoming, engaging and friendly.
You might be surprised by the name (Cocktail Queen) and that they offer a wide selection of cocktails and of course the more usual fare of beer and spirits of course! Although they don’t carry food they do offer we-call-they-deliver from several area restaurants – so you can still eat and not have to wander to find some food! The prices are right in range of reasonable and we have to admit we got potato chips to chew on with our beer
