Overheating here on Koh Chang is a common problem with a lot of laptops and this can lead to the laptop simply dying. Usually this consists of a dead motherboard, south bridge or video card. All of course can be expensive fixes and truly a pain when it happens. And a lot of times it just means buying a new laptop.
You can buy a simple USB powered fan that goes below your laptop that lifts it up from the surface of whatever it is on and allows air to flow more easily around it. The fans cost around 200Bht and can really save your laptop. if you don’t have a fan try to prop the back up for better airflow with a book or other object.
Besides the fan make sure that you clean out the air slots and keep the PC out of direct sun light.
