Hungry Elephant

I finally got down your way last week, getting a great deal on the hideaway resort 999 baht a night superior beachfront, after attending a holiday fair in Bangkok, loved what i saw of the island "just the west side - south" the roads are as bad as I had heard :-) we came by bike.. as to steak I have to say I ate the best steak I have had in Thailand in two years, period.. at the hideaway resort cost for a sirloin 575 baht. Even cheaper if you have one of those hotel cards which gives you 50% of food.. the resort is French owned and they know what rare is :-) We also found a little gem the last night, slightly north of the resort on the west side, a tiny Italian place "advertising Thai & Italian" but was purely Italian I think it was called mam a mia think... it was excellent food great pizza, the twist was this the Chef was pure Italian and The Boss seemed to be Cambodian was kinda funny to see the Italian running around and the young Cambodian drinking with the customers. Koh Chang loved it not the cheapest destination but more than fair people were great and way less of the tourist upsell one gets in Phuket, or is just my Thai is better great Island highly recommended to those not on a tight budget.
