Kharma Restaurant has been on Koh Chang for a while now, and have delivered good quality western and Thai food for all that time. We are going to be honest. We love the meatballs. With the owner being from Sweden with Thai partners the meatballs are great! Sure, the Thai food is wonderful, the menu is good but for sure – try the meatballs.
The decor reminds us, in a way, of an Ottoman tent. The owner has used large swaths of fabric on the roof that gives the restaurant a very intimate, laid back, yet not stifling feel. The liberal use of wood tables and chairs with a rock floor only adds to a nice relaxing area. Our favorite place to sit is the elevated benches with low tables that allow one to kick back and breathe easy. There are small touches that detail the area with seashells pasted to the posts, small brick-a-brack and interesting little curios here and there.
The meals are all fresh made, the menu itself is solid with enough selections to make sure you will find something you like and the service is very good and always with a smile. Kharma would be a great place to have a nice mid-afternoon break or a relaxing supper. Intimate, friendly and excellent food.
