Some days there is nothing like listening to a band and having a great time with them! Koh Chang surprisingly, for such a smaller place, has a great live music scene. So you don’t need to listen just to sound systems – you can rock out to some great tunes live!
The most well known band lives at Sabay Bar, they are from the Philippines and have one of the best acts on the island. Mostly Top 40, and their own tunes make for a very exciting night as they play all night with a great tight band! Find them in Central White Sands.
Oodies Bar has been putting on live music now for quite awhile and they have a great mix of rock and blues musicians. Always changing and always fun. Oodies is a bit an institution here on the island and should not be missed.
Kai Bae: there are a couple of venues in the village here that put on live music, they tend to come and go from different venues so just listen for some good guitars and you are there!
Lonely Beach; There are several bars that host live music and DJs with Ting-Tong Bar being the most popular. Definitely a mix here from reggae one night to another when I was there of traditional French fiddle music.
The best live music for me though is the places that one finds it when least expected. We have some really talented people that do gigs here after hours for parties and special occasions. You can usually find them blasting out the tunes when there is a birthday party or grand-opening. I like them the best as I never know what to expect and I have yet to be disappointed with them!
