As you can see the eclipse was just wonderful on Koh Chang. Kon Tiki did an excellent cruise while other people gathered on the beaches to take photos and wonder at the beauty of the world for a while. For us we headed out to Mandalay Restaurant on Klong Prao beach and watched, ate some food and just stared at the skies.
According to old traditions, we could hear pots being banged and fire-crackers going off in the distance, that combined with the waves coming in and lapping the shore it was the perfect night. What surprised us was that so many at the restaurant blissfully sat there and did not watch at all. Very much their loss as this not happen for quite a few years. It was a spectacular show that was watched by millions around the world. The moon came back to life so the banging must have worked!
If you missed it, we got a hold of a great video from Singapore that uses a time lapse to give you an idea of what a good show it was.
